SA’s biggest hitmakers to welcome the spring sunshine at Huawei Joburg Day with 947 

Not many other stages can boast 15 acts in one stage and everything about this year’s Huawei Joburg Day is a celebration.

A celebration of 25 years of democracy in South Africa, a celebration of Joburgers and all the event goers.

 

This exceptional annual music festival will take place on Saturday 7 September at Crocodile Creek, Lanseria.

 

Thando Makhunga, 947 station manager said Huawei Joburg Day is a social calendar event for all the Joburgers and fans of local music to come out to support and to connect with their favourite artists.

 

This event is more than Joburg’s favourite music festival, it has become a major showcase of excellence in the local music industry.

 

The Boss Zonke hit maker, Ricky Rick reflected fondly on his last year’s performance, “The vibe from the crowd was amazing, I really enjoyed my time on stage.”

“Event goers and my fans can expect nothing but more fun and good music. This year’s set will be special because I will be playing with a band,” Ricky Rick added.

 

Marketing Director for Huawei Consumer Business Group South Africa, Penny Diao said “Huawei Joburg Day is an extremely exciting and important event for us. On the day, concert goers are encouraged to use Park and Ride buses which will depart from; East Rand Mall, Eastgate Shopping Centre, Clearwater Mall, Mall of Africa, Melrose Arch, Montecasino and Time Square Casino. Park and Ride tickets cost R150 return per person.

 

The gates open at 08h00 and the first performance is at 10h00. Tickets cost R375 each for adults, package of 4 at R1 300 And VIP R947. No under 16’s allowed at the event. They all are available from www.ticketpros.co.za

 

The full line-up includes: Boom Shaka, AKA, Ricky Rick, Nasty C, Sho Madjozi, Lady Zamar, Shekhinah, Goodluck, The Kiffness, DJ Maphorisa, Jack Parow, Pascal & Pearce, Prince Kaybee, Crazy White Boy, Timo ODV.
